Aline & Howie: Music

Highways and Byways (live from Kibbutz Deganya, Israel)

(Aline & Howie George)
2007
lyrics and music by Aline & Howie George
We wrote this song while traveling in Israel this past winter. We would actually travel just a couple turns out of our home down to the Bali Cafe and then journey on to the bus stop. While we stood at bus stops and rest stops we had great opportunities to meet people and encourage them to seek after God.
Highways and Byways

Left turn, right turn, the open road
Rest stop, bus stop, the story must be told
Café along the way, some one needs to know
The simple truth, the greatest news, and so I must go

Inside, outside, roundabout
City street, feel the heat, there is no doubt
Fire in my bones, sometimes I have to shout
The simple truth, the greatest news, and so I go out

To the Highways and byways, the marketplace
So many souls in the valley these days
A field of white, in front of my face
So I’m goin’ to the highways and byways.

Freedom, fountain, the water is free
No money? Don’t worry come buy and eat
An invitation, to the nations, a wedding feast
Woe to those who would not come, where will they be?
